1 Minute Hack: Alarm Clock

1 Minute Hack: Alarm Clock

If you are constantly hitting your snooze button every morning, try putting your alarm clock across the room. I know what it’s like, you are very warm and cosy, and your well-intentioned plan of getting up early, to start ticking off your to-do list items, seems to disappear as the thought of leaving your warm bed comes up.

If the alarm clock is across the room, when the alarm goes off, you will need to leave your bed and move across the room to turn it off. Once you are out of your bed, you are less likely to go back to sleep, as your body and mind will start to wake up as you stand up, and the warm sleepy cocoon you have made for yourself is broken and the fresh air starts to wake you up.

If your alarm clock is near your bed, it is too easy and tempting to simply, stay warm, flick the snooze button and go back to sleep. If you need to get out of bed, the fresh air will start waking you up and once up, you’ll stay up and start chasing your goals and achieving things in your day!

I use the following from Amazon (affiliate link):

It is very easy to set, the light is touch activated, the alarm is very loud and repetitive and you can’t sleep through it. Well worth using to make sure you get up earlier!

About the Author
I host The Next Level Guy Podcast — conversations focused on helping men build themselves physically, mentally, socially, and professionally through real-world experience, discipline, and honest self-development. The show was built for ordinary men trying to improve their lives without the fake guru nonsense, empty motivation, or polished perfection. Every episode focuses on practical lessons, hard-earned perspective, and actionable tools that can actually be applied in real life. My own journey has included struggles with confidence, focus, mental health, and feeling stuck — which is why I care more about lived experience than theory. I’m not interested in pretending to have all the answers. I’m interested in learning from people who’ve genuinely done the work, testing those lessons in my own life, and sharing what actually helps. If you’re trying to become stronger, calmer, more capable, and more intentional in how you live, you’re in the right place.
