SOME THINGS TO REFLECT ON

  •  You can achieve your goals, regardless of what society tells you that you should be doing, anything is possible, you just need to work hard, stay focused and be positive
  • There is always fear – it will never go away -but you can overcome this by positive mental rehearsal and practise
  • Meditation and visualisation really help the divers to visualise and slow down the dive in their mind, so they can practice the smaller components off the board to allow them complete them successfully on the board. What could you use it for in your life to achieve a goal?
  • Lysanne uses a mantra and key words to help her successfully complete her dive. How could incorporating a mantra into your life help you achieve your tasks and goals?
  • Lysanne highlights throughout how positive having a coach has benefited her training. You do not need to do everything on your own and it is beneficial to bring in experts who can assist you in your development. Are there clubs or teams nearby that could help you on your chosen path?
  • Lysanne mentioned that when she is with her children, they are the only things that matter. She doesn’t try to multi-task, she plans out the day and gives each component of her life her full attention. You need to do this too – imagine what you could achieve if you gave your goals, work, and family your full attention rather than trying to juggle everything and not really being there for any of them and getting substandard results.
  • Lysanne mentioned how she dives for the love of the sport and hopes more sponsorship would come along too. She does it for the love of the sport. You should do the same, you should do what you do for the passion only and by putting your love into the activity, the money will eventually follow too.
  • By learning a second language, Lysanne used the increased learning capacity in her brain to become a better diver. What could you do with an increase in your brain capacity by learning a second language. How would it change all aspects of your life?

About the Author
I’m a podcaster who interviews great examples of people to discuss and highlight the methods, hacks, tips and procedures you can use in your own life to help you develop and better your life. I would definitely not consider myself an expert, so to improve, I ask them and action it in my own life! My personal journey has been marked by awkwardness and awesomeness, OCD and ‘OMG’. I have suffered with depression, shyness, unhappiness and lack of focus and motivation so I know what’s it like to feel lost and hopeless. Back then, I wished I had a podcast to listen to and find actual fixes and concrete action steps and not just unobtainable suggestions and promotion of their products but couldn’t find it … so I made my own!
