THE BASICS

Today’s guest is Robert Kandell, who is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, best selling author, and has taught over 10,000 students in 400 workshops, coaching sessions and lectures how to live an authentic, unHIDDEN life.

He is the host of the highly successful podcast, TuffLove and author of the recent Amazon #1 Best Seller – unHIDDEN – A Book for Men and Those Confused By Them.

Robert is an accomplished teacher, coach, and lecturer. An expert in interpersonal communication and relationships, he has helped thousands of students find a more balanced, energized life with better relationships, more sex and more happiness.

His coaching style is challenging, highly rewarding, and definitely not for the faint hearted. He has been described as “part football coach, part loving dad and part slightly crazed drill sergeant”.

In this interview we discuss issues such as anger, becoming vulnerable, effective use of communication and removing the mask we hide behind and becoming the person we truly desire to be.

SOME THINGS TO REFLECT ON

In this interview, a lot of jewels of self-improvement are discussed. Some of these and their associated thoughts include:

  •  Your starting point does not define you. It is never to late to go back to school and take up a course to begin again, learn a new skill and get the career and life that you wish. We are living in a great age where we all have the possibility to go against the status quo and chase our dreams.
  • The scripts of our fathers and grandfathers are no longer suitable for today’s society, we need to change how men act and deal with the modern culture we inhabit
  • You need to want to change, you need to make that first decision to want to change. You don’t need anyone’s permission to change, except for yourself. Yo are the only one who is stopping yourself from changing.
  • You are the average of the five people you hang around with
  • Anger will destroy you if you let it remain within, unchallenged and not dealt with. You need to address it and resolve it before it explodes out of you in various ways
  • Find out what works for you. There are a number of possible solutions you can try, not all will work for you, but the best thing is there is something that will help you. Don’t be sadden if one thing doesn’t work, keep looking until you find something else that does.
  • 30 days can be the time between you and everlasting change.

About the Author
I’m a podcaster who interviews great examples of people to discuss and highlight the methods, hacks, tips and procedures you can use in your own life to help you develop and better your life. I would definitely not consider myself an expert, so to improve, I ask them and action it in my own life! My personal journey has been marked by awkwardness and awesomeness, OCD and ‘OMG’. I have suffered with depression, shyness, unhappiness and lack of focus and motivation so I know what’s it like to feel lost and hopeless. Back then, I wished I had a podcast to listen to and find actual fixes and concrete action steps and not just unobtainable suggestions and promotion of their products but couldn’t find it … so I made my own!
